Tell us about your work - what makes your company unique?
PiperWai is the first naturally powerful, aluminum-free deodorant that uses activated charcoal to absorb wetness and fight odor. Natural ingredients like organic coconut oil, shea butter, and pure vitamin E soothe even the most sensitive skin. Our stain-free formula rubs in clear and won’t discolor your clothes.
How are you giving back this holiday season
One of PiperWai’s core beliefs is that giving should be a year-round occasion. We typically partner with organizations that are close to our team members’ hearts and causes important to many of our customers. Over the past year, we’re proud to have donated $33,000 to the following organizations: March of Dimes, YEA of Philadelphia, Animal Avengers, Best Friends Animal Society, New Leash On Life, Tzu Chi Santa Rosa, SBP Hurricane Harvey Relief, and United for Puerto Rico. Our giving doesn’t stop at monetary contribution. The PiperWai team regularly donates their time among various causes including high school mentorship, rescue animals, young entrepreneur education, and assisting in cancer treatment centers.

Any funny stories to share from your early startup days?
When we first started PiperWai, it was just the two of us co-founders handcrafting each deodorant batch in a community kitchen. Imagine us covered from head to toe in deodorant, dancing to Taylor Swift as we cleaned the kitchen after long 6-8 hour shifts. We also had an inside joke that our extended handcrafting sessions gave us “essential oil” hangovers.
