COVID-19: What we're doing and how you can help
Dear True Moringa Friends and Family,
There’s no two ways about it - these are difficult times. We’re working hard to honor our commitments of delivering your healthy skincare essentials, embracing our local community, and caring for the 5000 farming families and 100 employees along our supply chain.
CARING FOR YOU AND YOUR SKIN
As of now, our warehouse is open (following CDC guidelines) and shipping any order placed through our website. Please allow an additional day or two in transit. Though many of our retailers are closed due to COVID-19, you can find us on shelves in Pharmaca, Whole Foods throughout New England, and at our Boston local favorite Cambridge Naturals (phone orders only). You can also purchase online through Amazon.
CARING FOR OUR FARMING FAMILIES AND EMPLOYEES
Our non-essential employees in Ghana are working from home. We have temporarily suspended farmer visits and trainings, but remain in close contact with our field team and farmers via SMS. We are deploying mobile money payments instead of cash transactions where possible for farmers in remote areas. We have partnered with a collective of 20 Made-In-Ghana brands to use our resources and team to safely deliver healthy food (moringa-powered and otherwise) to families throughout Ghana in need. If you're based in Ghana, you can safely shop for COVID essentials and self-care at www.thrivetogether.store.
CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY:
Small business & health workers: This April, we participated in the #BeMyQuarantine campaign alongside so many of our favorite small businesses. For each order placed from April 3rd-April 10th, we donated a product to frontline healthcare professionals fighting COVID-19 in the Boston area. To date, we have donated over 200 products to frontline healthcare workers in Cambridge MA, Somerville MA, and Los Angeles CA. To request a donation, reach out to info@truemoringa.com
Food insecure families in Ghana: In May, we launched our Mother's Day Gift Box in partnership with Elements Truffles. 20% of proceeds benefit Kayayei women - female head porters in the markets of Accra, Ghana who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to COVID-19. 20% of all sales from April 27-May 10th will go directly to food aid for this population.
Essential workers: This June, we launched our Hero Basket campaign to allow customers to send a basket of Made-In-Ghana goodies to essential workers in Accra and greater Boston. Send a basket here: https://truemoringa.com/pages/hero-baskets
Subscribe to our newsletter for updates on our efforts to serve vulnerable populations during this difficult time.
Sending Moringa Love,
Kwami & Emily
