As part of our series celebrating entrepreneurship in Ghana, we sat down with Stacey - founder of Snacks of Africa to learn how they're working to bring the unique flavors of Ghana to a global audience. Follow their journey on Instagram here
Tell us a bit about your brand mission and vision - what motivated you to start your brand?
Snacks of Africa (SOA) crafts delicious snacks made with superfoods sourced from across the African continent. We are on a mission to share a taste of Africa with the world through food. I love our unique local dishes, fruits & veggies, and I've always wanted to highlight their natural greatness for the world to experience. Our first product is a line of toasted coconut chips. They are nutritious, naturally gluten free, Non GMO and gluten free.

What's your personal selfcare routine?
My self care is not necessarily an itemized routine, but more so a way of being. The little things I tended to ignore would build up and take their toll on me over time.  I've decided that in order to be my best, I have to raise my standard.  I wake up early. I clear my mind. I have breakfast. I manage my energy. My appearance matters. My sleep matters. My well-being matters. I just do better. I wake up everyday, and make a conscious effort to do better for myself than I did yesterday.

What's one thing people might not know about you?
I had the worst fear of public speaking all throughout my twenties!
What's next for your brand?
We've got new products coming to new markets soon!

What specific advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
I would stay the most important step is to start where you are with what you have. Too often we get in our own way and never pursue what we've dreamed of. If you are concerned about money, keep your day job until you can afford to quit but just take the first step by any means necessary. Trust me, you won't regret it.
