Clean Beauty Expert Series: Nadia Murdock on Moringa Oil for Combination Skin
When I was first introduced to Moringa oil I immediately found a multitude of ways to incorporate it into my everyday lifestyle and beauty needs. From throwing it into my gym bag to using it at night before bed it really became a part of my everyday routine.
Last winter Moringa oil was the perfect addition to my daily moisturizer giving my skin the extra hydration it needed to battle the cold weather and also attack the dry sections of my face during the winter months.
Most recently I have been using the oil once I found out I was pregnant. I started to research the benefits of natural oils to eliminate stretch marks and soothe itchy skin due to the rapid growth and stretching of the stomach. Yet again, Moringa oil was the perfect solution to my beauty needs. Unlike most oils it does not leave a greasy residue on the skin which may stain my clothing so this allowed me to use the oil day and night on my stomach.
Favorite moringa oil DIY tips and tricks?
My latest oil discovery has been Pumpkin Seed Oil that is known to treat acne prone skin because of the high amounts of linoleic acid. I decided to combine it the Moringa oil because it soothes damaged skin, minimizes the signs of aging and rich in moisture as well as antioxidants. Needles to say this was the perfect boost to some of my regular facial masks!
All you need is the following:
- Your favorite facial mask, I usually opt for a clay mask.
- One capsule of pumpkin seed oil (you can possibly get away with half a capsule if you don’t apply to the neck, but you should never neglect the neck!)
- 2-3 pumps of moringa oil
Directions:
- Combine all the ingredients together in a small mixing bowl and then apply to face and neck. Allow the mask to dry for 15-20 mins.
- Remove by rinsing with lukewarm water or a wet warm wash cloth. Your skin will feel so soft!
