2022 in Review
We’re so grateful you journeyed with us this year! Here are a few of our favorite moments from 2022:
1. Empowering True Moringa Scholars
With your generosity, we raised funds to support 5 full college scholarships for our farmers and their family members pursuing higher education. These students are pursuing degrees in nursing, business, teaching, and journalism, and all plan to return to their local community of New Longoro to give back upon graduating from their programs.
2. Bringing True Moringa to Macy's
Alongside our friends at Black Paper Party and AbsoluteJOI, we won a $15,000 grant in the Workshop at Macy’s pitch competition led by a panel of judges including Aurora James, founder of the 15 Percent Pledge. Best of all, you can now find our full line at Macys.com!
3. New Launches
Our Moringa Lip Balm made its debut alongside our limited edition Body Oil Candle just in time to soothe winter skin.
4. Team Work Makes the Dream Work
We teamed up with some of our favorite brands including Midunu Chocolates, Good Sam, and Snacks of Africa to launch limited edition gift boxes. Stay tuned for more collabs in 2023!
5. Clean Water for Farming Families
Together, we provided clean drinking water to 700 people in the Basabasa community and raised the funds to repair wells in five surrounding communities.
6. New Launches in Whole Foods, HSN, & More!
We launched our full line at HSN.com and brought new True Moringa to Whole Foods, Thrive Market, and Mighty Nest. Check out our store locator to find a location near you!
7. Growing Community Generated Wealth
Our Village Savings & Loan association groups serve as micro-banks for True Moringa farmers who previously lacked access to financial services. This year, our farmers saved and lent over $110,000 in community generated wealth.
8. Sharing the True Moringa Story
We got the chance to share the True Moringa story with Well + Good, Cosmopolitan, MIT, and more.
9. Regenerative Agriculture
We harvested more than just moringa this year. New crops including peanuts, lemongrass, and peppermint thrived on our regenerative organic, solar powered farm. We prioritized soil health, biodiversity, and practices that will keep farmland thriving for generations to come
Looking forward to all we will do together in 2023,
Kwami, Emily, & Team True Moringa
